Teachers or parents, if you have a 2-3 years child you will probably have a stash of popsicle sticks in your art supplies cupboard. We love using crafts sticks not only because they are inexpensive, but their potential to create DIY projects that keep the kids busy while somehow encouraging and building upon creative use and learning. Here are my picks of some really easy and fun craft sticks DIY you can do with your toddlers.
Table of Contents
Sensory play
I like using colored jumbo craft sticks for this sensory play project because they are easier for little hands to pick up. Add all sort of materials like pompom, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, beads etc. for the kids to feel different textures and sizes.

Popsicle puzzle
Tape regular size popsicle sticks together to form a ‘canvas’. Flip to another side and let your kids draw a picture on the craft sticks. Remove tape and here you have your DIY puzzle.

Matching colored craft sticks to pattern cards. You can design your own patterns or find free printable online. One of my best restaurant busy bags to keep kids concentrate and busy for a good period of time.
